The web is full of useful and useless information concerning travel, depending on your perspective and goals. Personally, I want to try and get somewhere for as cheap as possible and spend the savings on delicious food and drink. These are the online resources I regularly use to gather ideas.
Having the luxury of flexibility in time and location can save you heaps of cash on flights. Skyscanner gives you the ability to search flights, based on price from all of a country’s airports arriving at all of another country’s airports, indexed through weeks or months.
A perfect example would be on getting to Europe from the US. Most of my contemporaries think getting from the East Coast, US to Europe is exorbitantly expensive. But, thanks to a discovery from Skyscanner, Norwegian Air offers consistent cheap-fare flights from Orlando, New York (JFK), and Boston to Bergen and Oslo. Once you are on the Continent, then cheaper flights await on Wizz Air and RyanAir. Boom!
Just type “United States” to “Norway” and select one-way, and you shall see what I mean.
